Things to see in Monterosso Almo

Monterosso Almo is a picturesque hill town in the province of Ragusa, in southeastern Sicily, Italy. Nestled in the Hyblaean Mountains at an elevation of over 700 meters, it is one of the highest and most charming villages in the region.

Known for its well-preserved Baroque architecture, cobblestone alleys, and sweeping views of the surrounding countryside, Monterosso Almo offers visitors a glimpse into authentic Sicilian life. Lavish late‑19th‑century Art Nouveau palace built for the Cocuzza family, now home to the civic museum of Monterosso Almo, with over 40 richly decorated rooms and archaeological exhibits. Casa Museo Suor Rosa Roccuzzo (Casa Museo Suor Rosa Roccuzzo). Restored and open to the public as a museum honouring her life and service in early 20th‑century Sicily.
